Growing up as a Syracuse fan in Connecticut was not easy for Sean Fernandez. Despite being heavily outnumbered by UConn Huskies fans, Sean held strong and dreamed of the day that he would officially be an Orange. That day came in 2011, and since then, he has done his best to take advantage of all the opportunities that SU has to offer.
A Finance major in Whitman and Public Communications minor through Newhouse, Sean has focused on developing his leadership ability through his involvement with student organizations. He is currently the President of Delta Sigma Pi, a professional business fraternity, and he recently took the reigns as President of Otto’s Army, the official student section of Syracuse University athletics.
Additionally, Sean contributes to the Whitman community by being a work-study member in the Undergraduate Office and serving as a Peer Mentor for groups of incoming freshmen.
When Sean is not in class, he enjoys passionately rooting for his favorite sports teams and watching Shark Tank with his roommates. This summer, Sean will gain valuable experience by completing internships with Canaccord Genuity and JPMorgan Chase.
As you can already see, Sean truly cares about deepening his skill set and making the most of his college experience. He plans to continue all his success and enjoyment by making his senior year at Syracuse one to remember. With all this being said, Sean is certainly one to be watched in the upcoming academic year and years to follow, as he will be accomplishing many great feats!
